Betrayal trauma and narcissistic abuse recovery therapy in Jacksonville Beach and virtually throughout Florida. Life coaching available nationwide and internationally for toxic relationship recovery, gaslighting, and rebuilding after relational trauma.
Florida residents can work with us in person in Jacksonville Beach or virtually from anywhere in the state. If you are outside Florida, life coaching is available across the US and internationally. Wherever you are, there is likely a way to make this work.
No insurance means no insurance company in your file, no required diagnosis on record, and nobody who has never met you getting a say in your care. What happens in your sessions stays between you and your therapist. That is not a perk. That is the whole point.
This is not a one-size-fits-all practice. Our team specializes in the specific things you are actually dealing with, and every session is built around you, not a protocol. There is no checklist. There is no clipboard. There is just the work that actually needs to happen.
Betrayal trauma and narcissistic abuse are uniquely disorienting because the person causing the harm is often the same person you turned to for safety. So your nervous system learned to doubt itself. The fog is real. The feeling that you are screaming and no one can hear you is real. The exhaustion of holding together a version of your life that stopped making sense a long time ago is real.
You may not even have words for what happened yet. You might still be in the relationship. You might have just left. You might be two years out and still not feel like yourself. All of that is okay. This is where you come when you are ready for someone who will not make you start from the beginning, because she already knows this story from the inside out.
You’re not imagining this. This is what happens when your reality has been repeatedly questioned, dismissed, or rewritten.
Honestly? Because you are a good person. You loved someone. You trusted them. You tried harder every time they told you that you were not enough. That is not a flaw. That is exactly what they were counting on. And now that you can see it, we can start doing something about it.
We work on things like:
You stop going back through every conversation looking for where you went wrong. You stop second-guessing yourself in rooms where you used to feel safe. Your gut starts to feel like something worth listening to again. And that is a bigger deal than it sounds, because you have been talking yourself out of it for a long time.
You start to feel like you again. Not the version that was managing everything, but the one that existed before all of this. She is still in there. That is who we are working to get back to.
At Flourish Wellness, we are not here to keep you in the hard part longer than you need to be. We are here to sit with you in it, help you make sense of it, and then keep walking with you until you are genuinely, actually flourishing. Not fine. Not functioning. Flourishing. Our team brings real clinical depth, real lived experience, and the kind of honesty that feels like talking to someone who actually gets it because they do.
Betrayal trauma happens when someone you depended on for safety or care causes you harm. What makes it uniquely devastating is the conflict it creates: the person you would normally turn to for comfort is the source of the pain.
This is why betrayal trauma so often produces symptoms that look like confusion, dissociation, intense anxiety, memory disruption, and difficulty trusting your own perceptions. It is not the same as generalized trauma, and it requires a therapist who understands the specific dynamics of narcissistic abuse, gaslighting, and relational manipulation.
Working with a generalist who has not specialized in these patterns often leaves survivors feeling more confused than when they started.
"I have worked with Patricia for 2 years. Not only has she been a great resource during my marriage counseling but also individually."
"I’m incredibly grateful for my experience with Patricia. From the beginning, I felt heard, supported, and never judged. They create a calm, safe space and ask thoughtful questions that truly help you reflect and grow. Therapy with them has helped me better understand myself, set healthier boundaries, and navigate difficult seasons with more clarity. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and insightful therapist."
Most therapy feels like a transaction. You show up, you talk, someone nods, you leave. Nothing moves. It is not supposed to feel that way.
Flourish Wellness was built by someone who sat on the other side of the room first. Our founder Patricia brings both professional expertise and lived experience to this work. She has walked through burnout, learned to navigate life with ADHD through a new lens, and experienced the healing that can come after betrayal, loss, and major life transitions. She has rebuilt, restored meaningful relationships, and learned how to release the ones that could not be repaired. She has also navigated single parenthood and the beautiful, complex work of blending a family. She does not just speak about healing. She has lived it, practiced it, and built a life that reflects it.
Sessions here move. They are warm, they are real, and they will sometimes make you laugh in the middle of something hard. That is not a coincidence. That is the work.
Many of our clients stay for years. Some move from therapy into life coaching when life shifts. The relationship does not have to end just because the crisis does. And because we are private pay, your records stay yours and no insurance company gets a seat at the table.
If you have tried therapy before and it felt like talking to a wall, we get it. This is different. Because the people doing this work have actually been where you are.
We are Gottman-trained and EMDR-certified and all of it matters. But the reason clients stay for years is not the modality. It is the connection.
This practice serves clients of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities. Faith integration is available for those who want it. If that is not you, you are equally at home here.
We are private pay because your mental health record belongs to you. Not your employer. Not your insurance company. You.
We start where you are right now. In the fog, in the confusion, still not sure what was real and what was not. We don’t need you to have it figured out. That is literally what the first part of this is for.
Then we start to make sense of it together. What the relationship actually was. Why it felt so impossible to leave or see clearly. And why none of that means you are broken.
you start to actually feel like yourself again. Not who you were before, honestly maybe better than that. Someone who knows her own mind and trusts it.
No. Many clients come in saying "something was wrong but I don't know what it was." You do not need a label or a diagnosis to start. You just need to feel like something needs to change.
You are still welcome here. Many people start therapy while still in the relationship, and that is often what gives them the clarity to figure out what they want to do next. There is no pressure and no timeline.
Yes. EMDR is one of the most effective approaches for processing relational trauma because it works at the level of the nervous system, not just the cognitive mind. It is particularly helpful for clients who feel stuck or who have done talk therapy without seeing the shifts they hoped for.
If you are in Florida, we offer licensed therapy. If you are outside Florida, we offer trauma-informed life coaching that focuses on recovery, identity rebuilding, and moving forward. Both are grounded in the same depth of understanding and lived experience.
That is one of the most common things we hear. General therapy and specialized narcissistic abuse recovery work are genuinely different. If your previous therapist had not lived this or specialized in it, the gap in understanding is real, and it matters.
Yes. That means no insurance company has access to your records, no diagnosis goes on file unless clinically necessary, and everything stays between you and your therapist. For survivors of narcissistic abuse especially, privacy is not a luxury. It is part of the healing.
Not quite ready to request a consultation? That is completely okay. Send a message and we will take it from there.
We offer both in person and virtual sessions. If you come in person, you can expect a calm, welcoming space just a short walk from the ocean. If it feels right, we can even take your session outside for a walk along the beach. You may also be greeted by Gandalf, our resident therapy cat. He is in on select days only and clients are always notified in advance. Allergies? The office is thoroughly cleaned on days he is out. He leaves no trace. A true professional.
